About Us
Dr. Terri DeWeert
VETERINARIANTerri was raised in Santa Rosa, California. She attended The University of California - Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.
While in veterinary school, Terri completed fellowships at MIT and the Hershey Medical Center in Pennsylvania. Terri's residency was at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, studying Comparative Medicine.
Terri joined Valley Veterinary Clinic when she married her husband and the clinic's founder, Dan.
After the work is done, Terri spends time with friends and family, gardens, cooks, and rides horses. She and her horses love cow cutting in particular.
Colleen Storms
VETERINARY TECHNICIANColleen earned her Veterinary Technician degree in 1975. She started accounting courses to assist her veterinary clinic and ended up with a new career as an accountant.
After 24 years as a governmental Finance Director, Colleen retired and got to play full time with dogs again. She and her husband enjoy dog showing and training and having the occasional litter of Mini American puppies.
As a long-time accountant, friend, and client of Dr. DeWeert she jumps into her Vet Tech role to aid in training new staff and lots of other things needed to run a rural vet practice.
Green
VETERINARY ASSISTANTWhile her main work has been with horses, Green grew up with dogs and cats and started volunteering for the local humane society when she was a youth. She also volunteered for a year with the Birds of Prey program at the Oregon Zoo.
After high school, Green lived in Guatemala for a year, volunteering at a cat and dog rescue and a sea turtle hatchery. She then volunteered at a wildlife rehabilitation facility near Tumwater, WA for a year while working at the railroad in Tacoma.
Green has owned and cared for a wide variety of species, both pets and livestock. She enjoys learning about--and takes seriously--animal behavior, nutrition, and other science so that she can provide the best care possible.
Christina Cline
VETERINARY ASSISTANTChristina grew up in Seattle, graduated from the University of Washington, and lived in Abbotsford, BC, before moving to the Methow Valley in 2014.
A farrier of 25 years, Christina was the president of the American Hoof Association. She co-authored The Essential Hoof Book, and is currently a mentor for the Progressive Hoof Care Practitioners and the Equine Sciences Academy.
Her love for cats and dogs is equal to her love of horses, and she joined the Valley Veterinary team to help serve the smaller animals in the community.
In her free time, Christina enjoys hiking, cross country skiing, and trail riding, most often with her canine companions.
Lacey Jones
VETERINARY ASSISTANTCurrently residing in Quincy, WA, Lacey is a Methow Valley local who makes a trip every Tuesday to work for Valley Vet Clinic.
Lacey previously devoted over 10 years with Dr. Terri and Dr. Dan, and her extensive clinical experience and dental expertise are just two of the assets she brings to the clinic.
Lacey has an amazing family with four kids, Harlie, Levi, Clyde, and Lyndee. She enjoys raising her family in the western lifestyle with values focused on hard work, grit, and a lot of fun.
Laurie Buzzard
RECEPTIONISTMethow Valley born and raised between Twisp and Winthrop on a 525-acre ranch, Laurie’s family ran range cattle and had the usual complement of other critters, including horses, pigs, chickens, dogs and cats.
Laurie graduated from Twisp High School just before its consolidation with Winthrop. She married and raised three amazing sons in the Methow Valley, and is now a grandmother.
Laurie has worked in many interesting roles, most notably on the Bering Sea as a cook for 200 people on a 680-foot surimi processor. She also worked for OK Cascades for 10 years doing mobile catering all over the country.
After 40+ years of caregiving, Laurie semi-retired...and started working at Valley Veterinary Clinic.
Ellie
GREETEREllie joined the Valley Veterinary Clinic Team in winter 2017. Her sweet disposition helps all the pets coming in to feel at ease.
She takes her job seriously and has an excellent attendance record.

Dr. Dan DeWeert
VETERINARIAN and FOUNDERDan founded Valley Veterinary Clinic. Raised in Kelso, WA, he served as a Veterinary Technician in the U.S. Air Force.
Dan earned his degree from Washington State School of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. He worked as an Associate Veterinarian in Brewster before starting Valley Veterinary Clinic in Twisp that same year.
Dan was involved in the Veterinary Medical Association at both the state and national level for 32 years. He served as President of the WA State Veterinary Medical Association from 1986-1987.
Dan’s service to his community:
- Liberty Bell Football coach for 9 years
- Assisted with AAU basketball and umpired little league baseball
- Served in Kiwanis
- Served on the Community Accountability Board
- Volunteered as the veterinarian for the Methow Valley Rodeo
Dan passed on September 12, 2017 after a brave battle with ALS. We miss him.
