Puppy Care
Puppies receive a comprehensive examination looking for signs of injury, illness, birth defects, and parasites. We review your puppy's health record, if any, and determine the appropriate vaccination and deworming schedule.

We will help you make the decision about if and when to spay/neuter.

We'll also advise you about diet and general care.
Annual Wellness Appointment
Annual exams are essential to your pet's overall health.

We check for injury, disease and cancer, to include a full dental exam. We take a proactive approach, looking at illness prevention, parasite prevention and vaccination. We can also address nutrition and behavioral issues.
Spay/Neuter
Spaying and neutering is essential to maintaining the well being of the Methow Valley's canine community, and it's also important for your dog's health.

Spaying your female dog helps prevent infected uterus, ovarian cancer and mammary tumors. Neutering your male dog can help avoid roaming behavior (to find a mate) and decrease the risk of prostate and testicular cancers.

It isn't true that spaying or neutering causes obesity or laziness. Obesity is a result of overfeeding and not enough exercise.

These procedures take less than 90 minutes but that doesn't include prep and recovery time. Typically you will drop off your dog in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon.
Microchipping
Year after year, we reunite pets with their owners. We strongly encourage microchipping. Pets become scared and run off during thunderstorms, fireworks and wildfire and hunting season.

Microchipping is for pets of all ages. It's never too late.
Dentistry
Your dog's oral care is just as important as yours. By five years old, 60% of dogs have some periodontal disease. Gingivitis is often painful and may result in reluctance to eat and weight loss.

We perform a visual check of teeth during the annual exam, however a full dental exam, including x-ray, needs to be performed under anesthesia. Unlike humans, pets need to be anesthetized for dental procedures.

A dental cleaning includes manual removal of tartar, ultrasonic cleaning, and polishing of the teeth. We perform an extraction when a tooth is broken or diseased.
Reproductive Services
We support reproductive health and responsible breeding.

We offer fertility assessments, ovulation timing. progesterone testing, artificial insemination, pregnancy diagnosis and monitoring, and whelping support, including planned and emergency cesarean sections.
Surgery
Surgery is typically performed in the morning with most pets going home the same afternoon.

We use isoflurane anesthesia which is an inhalant delivered through a mask or an endotracheal tube and mixed with oxygen to keep a patient fully unconscious. We monitor anesthesia with pulse oximetry, blood pressure. temperature, end tidal CO2 and ECG, and we have a heated surgery table to ensure we maintain your pet's body temperature.

We attend to your pet's comfort at all times.
Nutritional Consultation
Our nutritional services support your dog’s health at every stage of life. We provide diet recommendations based on age, breed, activity level, and medical needs.

Obesity is a common problem, so we provide weight management plans and evidence-based guidance to help you and your dog.
Therapeutic Laser
Laser treatments improves a wide variety of conditions, including tendonitis, arthritis, hip dysplasia and fractures. We use a Class IV K-laser to emit certain wavelengths of light to increase circulation, reduce inflammation and promote tissue repair.

Treatments are noninvasive, take only a few minutes and most pets tolerate them well. Some conditions can be improved with one or two session, but other conditions require a series of sessions.
